QC MORE TAXPAYER-FRIENDLY NOW

Quezon City is implementing this year two taxpayer-friendly measures – one for real properties and the other for business establishments.

Mayor Herbert M. Bautista has approved Ordinance No. SP 2362, S2014 which will exempt business owners from auditing and examination of business records if they pay their business taxes this year in the amount 30 percent higher that those paid last year.

Mayor Bautista also approved Ordinance No. SP 2363, S2014 which grants tax relief to real property owners to allow them to settle their tax delinquencies and update their accounts.

The measures also target to increase the city’s tax collection to boost social and economic activities most needed by city residents.

To date, QC has over 60,000 registered business establishments.

According to QC Information Technology and Development Office (QCITDO) head Reynald Paul Imjada, one of the Bautista administration’s thrusts is providing the city with a “one system, one standard” in all its processes.

However, Imjada is quick to say that the Mayor is doing the system streamlining in evolutionary method since there are many aspects that should be considered including budgetary aspect.

In IT alone, Imjada said that the step- by- step method has been implemented to cope up with the modern world, thus providing quick and more convenient service to transacting public through measures like the  No. SP 2362, S2014 and Ordinance No. SP 2363, S2014.

Aside from the two newly approved ordinance, QC government had already implemented other convenient ways of paying tax due including the e-payment system –a mode of tax payment using cellular phone.
